Before you play:
Before you start playing it is important to that you reduce the chance of injury by warming up properly. Not doing so raises the risk of injury by 48 per cent.
Knees and ankles are the most commonly injured body parts of netballers and most of these injuries occur when landing.
Netball Australia has designed the KNEE (Knee injury prevention for Netballers to Enhance performance and Extend play) program to prevent knee injuries. Netball Australia - Junior KNEE program - Netball Australia - Senior KNEE program
Aerobic exercises such as walking, jogging or cycling for five to 10 minutes can also assist in preventing injuries. Stretching is also important, so be sure to move the limbs through a range of motions.
